Student Accomplishments and Public Service

The respiratory care program attends the Missouri Society for Respiratory Therapy State Conference held each spring at Marriott's Tan-Tar-A Resort, Osage Beach, Missouri on the Lake of the Ozarks.

The annual Conference is a combination of informational speakers on a variety of topics, an exhibit hall with all the latest equipment and academic competition (sputum bowl.)

The Missouri Southern State University Respiratory Class also submits research papers to the John Rogers Memorial Scholarship Competition. MSSU has had many students receive awards in this competition. In 2010, Brenda Barger-Saunders won first place honors.
