Dr. Beverly Block has over thirty years teaching experience. She began teaching at Missouri Southern in the fall of 1984. Previously she taught at Pittsburg State University, and she taught six years in high school in Arkansas.
Dr. Block has held various positions at MSSU, including: Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs; Department Head for Marketing, MIS, and Business Education; Assistant Dean and Dean of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business.
She is an active member of the Joplin Chamber of Commerce and The Rotary Club of Joplin. She is on the Board for ASPIRE (Assisting Parents in Realizing Education). She currently is on the Business Advisory Committee for high schools in Joplin, Carthage, and Girard, Kansas. She has won several teaching awards, including the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2002. In 2008 she was named a Woman of Distinction.
