About the Degree:

Music is a universal language! The Bachelor of Arts in Music provides a general foundation in music, including professional preparation for individuals interested in selected fields of study within the discipline of music. You'll find an environment of cultural enrichment that works in concert with our International Mission. Some of the finest musicians in the region and the nation have received our bachelor’s degree with a major in music. These individuals play in nationally-known orchestras, work in arranging or have gone on to obtain master's and even doctoral degrees.

What You’ll Learn:

  • The music major will demonstrate effective keyboard skills in playing the piano both as a performer and accompanist.
  • The successful graduate from the Music program will develop a broad base of knowledge in music history, including literature, composers, genres, and styles.
  • The successful graduate from the Music program will identify, distinguish, and notate written and aural elements of music theory.
  • The successful graduate from the Music program will perform as soloists and ensemble members in their primary instrument at a level commensurate with their degree program.
