Education:
I offer classes in English composition, early British literatures, and poetry. I hold a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas School of Law and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Texas at Austin. I have served as President of the MSSU Faculty Senate and Director of MSSU’s First-Year Experience Program. I came to Joplin and MSSU from Austin, Texas, where I taught courses in English literature and German and served as Chair of the Division of Humanities at Huston-Tillotson University, a historically black, four-year institution. During the 1970s and 1980s, I studied and taught in Germany. I travelled widely during those years, visiting some 50 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
