The station is operated by a combined effort of professional staff and students in the Department of Communication. They are: 
 
J. R. MOORMAN, Executive Manager: Dr. Moorman is head of the Department of Communications.  He serves as Executive Manager, providing administrative support and guidance.  He has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Sociology, and a Doctorate in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. 
 
JUDY STILES, General Manager: Mrs. Stiles is a professional staff member at the college. She manages the daily operations and helps establish long-term plans for the station. She has a Bachelor of Journalism Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Arts Degree in Speech Communications from Pittsburg State University. 
 
WARD BRYANT, Production Manager: Mr. Bryant is an Assistant Professor in Communications. He is responsible for managing productions at the station. He has a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from the University of Kansas. 
 
ROBERT CLARK, Broadcast Consultant. Dr. Clark is a professor in the Department of Communications. He teaches television production and broadcast courses. He has a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. 
 
DON ROSS, Chief Engineer: Mr. Ross is a professional staff member at the college. He is responsible for the maintenance and technical operations of KGCS. He also works to maintain other technical facilities on campus. He came to Missouri Southern after more than 20 years experience as an engineer at a commercial television station. 
 
TOM HEWETT, Broadcast Electronics Technician. Mr. Hewett is a professional staff member at the college.  He assists with the maintenance and operations of station equipment and other campus facilities. He came to the college after more than 20 years experience as an engineer in commercial television and industry.
 
BILL HUNT, Creative Services Director. Mr. Hunt is a professional staff member at the College. He is responsible for production of non-student television programs and non-broadcast video productions. He has more than 20 years experience in television production.
 

STUDENT MANAGERS FOR 2007-2008

 
Jarrod Griswold , Student Station Manager.  Jarrod is a senior Communication major from Coffeyville, Kansas. He came to Southern in the Fall of 2006, and has helped with numerous television productions, including Southern Sports Sunday and Newsmakers. Prior to coming to MSSU, Jarrod attended Coffeyville Community College and helped with television productions there. He would like to start his career at a local television station and work up to a major market.
   
Scott Parker, Student Production Manager.  Scott is a senior Communication major from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He has assisted with television productions while a student at Southern, and currently works part-time at a local television station. His goals include working in sports broadcasting.
 
Alonzo MedcalF, , Student Promotions Manager.  Alonzo is a sophomore Mass Communication major from St. Louis, Missouri. He has operated cameras for numerous special projects at KGCS-TV, including coverage of concerts, theatre presentations and lectures. He is interested in directing programs, with his career goals including work for a television station in camera work or directing.
